Pediatric Mental Health for Healthcare Providers
As family physicians, it is important to make early diagnoses of pediatric mental health disorders and give appropriate treatment based on updated guidelines. There are many resources available to help diagnose and treat children’s mental disorders. Below are some Missouri specific and national resources that you might find helpful in your practice.
Data
According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), mental, behavioral, and developmental disorders begin in early childhood. 1 in 6 U.S. children aged 2–8 years (17.4%) had a diagnosed mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder.
